What is Collaborative Divorce/Process?

Collaborative Divorce/Process is by definition a non-adversarial approach and a pledge in writing by your attorneys and the participants to not go to Court.  It is a commitment to reach a mutually acceptable legal agreement with your spouse/partner under the guidance and protections of both participants having their own attorneys as well as any other collaborative professionals that may be necessary to assist the parties in reaching a comprehensive settlement.  It allows the participants to engage in a respectful, open and transparent process that leads to a mutual out of court settlement that the participants decide for themselves, rather than giving that power to a judge who does not know you or your family.  It provides participants a level of privacy that otherwise would not exist if you were to engage in the conventional litigation in a public forum.  The  Collaborative Divorce/Process eases the emotional strains of a breakup and protects the well-being of children and can be utilized for many other legal disputes.
